Montréal is easy to navigate, with several convenient transportation options for visitors.

The city’s public transit system includes the metro and an extensive bus network, making it simple to travel between neighbourhoods, hotels, restaurants, and festival venues. Visitors arriving at Montréal-Trudeau International Airportcan reach the city centre by airport shuttle, taxi, rideshare, or public transit.

For those who enjoy exploring outdoors, Montréal is also one of North America’s most bike-friendly cities. The BIXIbike-sharing system and the city’s growing network of bike paths make it easy to discover different neighbourhoods at your own pace.

Taxis and rideshare services are widely available, and many of Montréal’s most charming areas are best experienced on foot. From the Plateau and Mile End to Old Montréal and downtown, walking is often one of the most enjoyable ways to experience the city’s atmosphere.

How Do I Get to The Festival Venue?

Montreal Tango Festival takes place at Tango Renaissance, located in the heart of the Plateau-Mont-Royal, one of Montreal’s most vibrant cultural neighbourhoods.

There are many ways to get to Tango Renaissance, but public transportation is strongly recommended, especially during festival evenings and weekend events.

By metro:

By bus:

The most direct bus option is: 55 Boulevard Saint-Laurent Get off near Saint-Laurent / Mont-Royal or the closest stop to 4475 Boulevard Saint-Laurent. The 55 runs along Boulevard Saint-Laurent and connects downtown with the Plateau and Mile End. We recommend checking the latest schedules and service updates directly on the STM website before travelling.

By bike:

Tango Renaissance is located in a bike-friendly area, close to several major Plateau bike routes. Bicycle parking is available on nearby streets, and BIXI stations are available throughout the neighbourhood.

By car:

Street parking is available in the surrounding area, subject to local signage and regulations. Please allow extra time to find parking, especially on festival nights. Nearby parking options may include:

Where to Stay During Montreal Tango Festival?

Montreal Tango Festival does not have an official festival hotel at this time, but there are many good accommodation options near Tango Renaissance and in downtown Montréal.

The festival venue, Tango Renaissance, is located in the Plateau-Mont-Royal area, close to Boulevard Saint-Laurent and Mont-Royal. For the easiest experience, we recommend staying near the Mont-Royal metro station, the Plateau, Quartier des Spectacles, or downtown Montréal.

It is very close to Mont-Royal metro station, making it a strong choice for dancers who want to stay near Tango Renaissance and easily move around the city. The Cove Hotel is about a 3-minute walk from Mont-Royal Station.

DoubleTree by Hilton Montréal

Located in the heart of downtown Montréal, DoubleTree by Hilton Montréal is connected to Complexe Desjardins and close to Place des Arts, the Quartier des spectacles, restaurants, shopping, and major cultural attractions. It is a convenient option for visitors who want a full-service hotel in the downtown core while still having easy metro access to the Plateau and Tango Renaissance. The hotel is located at 1255 Jeanne-Mance Street.

For the best experience, choose an Airbnb close to a metro station, especially on the Orange Line, since it connects easily to Mont-Royal Station and the Plateau area. If you plan to attend late-night milongas, consider travel time back to your accommodation before booking.
