By registering for, purchasing a pass or ticket to, or participating in any activity connected with Montreal Tango Festival 2026, you agree to these Terms & Conditions. Please read them carefully before completing your purchase.
Montreal Tango Festival 2026 (the “Festival” or the “Event”) is organized by Burak Ozkosem and Sabire Sırma Saltık and produced by Tango Renaissance (the “Organizer”).
These Terms & Conditions apply to all Festival participants, pass holders, ticket holders, workshop attendees, milonga attendees, guests, and visitors (collectively, “Participants”).
The Organizer may update these Terms & Conditions when necessary for operational, safety, legal, or programming reasons. The version posted on the official Festival website or registration page will be the current version.
Participation is open to dancers and attendees of all levels, unless a specific workshop, class, or activity lists a required level, partner requirement, or other condition of participation.
All passes, tickets, and registrations must be purchased through the official Festival registration system or another sales channel approved by the Organizer.
Registrations are confirmed only after full payment has been received and confirmation has been issued by the registration system or the Organizer.
Participants are responsible for ensuring that their registration details, pass selections, workshop selections, and contact information are accurate before completing payment.
The Organizer reserves the right to deny entry, refuse service, cancel a registration, or remove a Participant where necessary for safety, capacity, operational, payment, fraud-prevention, or code-of-conduct reasons.
Festival passes may include different combinations of workshops, regular milongas, gala milongas, performances, or special events, depending on the pass type purchased.
Full Festival Pass holders receive access to the workshops and milongas included in the official Festival program, subject to check-in requirements, room capacity, venue capacity, level requirements, partner requirements, and schedule limitations.
Milonga Pass holders receive access to the regular and gala milongas included in that pass, subject to venue capacity and check-in requirements.
Gala Milonga Pass holders receive access to the Friday, Saturday, and Sunday Gala Milongas, subject to venue capacity and check-in requirements.
À la carte workshop and milonga purchases provide access only to the specific activities selected at the time of purchase.
Passes and tickets are personal to the registered Participant and may not be shared, duplicated, or resold without written approval from the Organizer.
All prices are listed in Canadian dollars unless otherwise stated.
Applicable taxes, service charges, payment processing fees, or administrative fees may be added at checkout and may vary depending on the registration platform or payment method used.
The Organizer is not responsible for bank fees, foreign exchange fees, credit card charges, or other costs charged by third parties.
The Organizer may offer early bird pricing, flash sales, promotional pricing, package pricing, or limited-quantity offers. Such offers may be changed or withdrawn at any time before purchase and are subject to availability.
Some workshops may require registration with a fixed partner. If a partner is required, both Participants must be registered and paid in full.
The Organizer may request partner names during registration to support class balance and workshop planning.
Participants may not attend workshops for which they are not registered unless authorized by the Organizer.
Participants are responsible for selecting workshops that match their experience level and physical readiness. The Organizer may make reasonable adjustments to support class balance, safety, and learning quality.
All sales are final unless otherwise stated in this policy or required by applicable law.
Refund policy: 100% refund within 14 days of registration, minus a $25 administrative fee; 50% refund until July 21, 2026, minus a $25 administrative fee; no refunds after July 21, 2026.
Transaction fees, payment processing fees, service fees, and administrative fees are non-refundable unless required by applicable law.
Name transfers may be allowed upon request, subject to Organizer approval, registration accuracy, workshop balance, partner requirements, and administrative deadlines. The Organizer may refuse a transfer if it creates operational or capacity issues.
No refunds or credits will be issued for missed workshops, late arrival, early departure, schedule conflicts, illness, travel delays, personal circumstances, or failure to attend, except where required by applicable law or expressly approved by the Organizer.
If the Organizer cancels the entire Festival, Participants will be informed of the available options in accordance with applicable law and the circumstances of the cancellation.
The Organizer reserves the right to modify the Festival schedule, venues, rooms, instructors, DJs, performers, workshop topics, class levels, event format, or program elements due to operational needs, safety considerations, venue requirements, illness, travel disruptions, low enrollment, force majeure, or other unforeseen circumstances.
Reasonable efforts will be made to communicate material changes to registered Participants through the Festival website, email, social media, or on-site announcements.
A change to the schedule, room assignment, instructor, DJ, performer, topic, or format does not automatically entitle Participants to a refund, unless required by applicable law.
All events are subject to room capacity, venue capacity, fire safety limits, registration limits, and operational considerations.
A pass or ticket does not guarantee entry if a Participant arrives after capacity has been reached, fails to check in properly, does not meet a listed requirement, or does not follow Festival or venue instructions.
Participants are encouraged to arrive early for workshops, milongas, and gala events.
Respectful behavior is required at all times toward other Participants, instructors, DJs, performers, volunteers, staff, venue personnel, and members of the public.
Harassment, discrimination, intimidation, unsafe dancing, aggressive behavior, unwanted physical contact, disruptive conduct, or failure to follow staff instructions will not be tolerated.
The Organizer may remove a Participant from any activity or from the Festival without refund if their conduct creates an unsafe, disrespectful, disruptive, or inappropriate environment.
Argentine tango, workshops, milongas, performances, and related dance activities involve physical movement, close contact, shared spaces, and inherent risks.
By participating, Participants acknowledge and voluntarily assume the risks associated with dance and Festival activities, including but not limited to physical injury, illness, fatigue, personal property loss, or other incidental risks.
Participants are responsible for assessing their own health, physical condition, skill level, and ability to participate safely. Participants should stop dancing or participating if they feel unwell, injured, or unsafe.
To the fullest extent permitted by law, the Organizer, Tango Renaissance, staff, volunteers, instructors, DJs, performers, and venue representatives are not liable for injuries, losses, theft, property damage, or other damages arising from participation in the Festival, except where liability cannot be excluded under applicable law.
Photography and video recording may take place during the Festival, including workshops, milongas, performances, public areas, and promotional activities.
By attending the Festival, Participants consent to the use of photos, videos, and other media in which they may appear for Festival promotion, social media, website content, advertising, archives, and future event communications, without compensation.
Participants who do not wish to appear in identifiable promotional media should notify the Organizer in writing before the Festival. The Organizer will make reasonable efforts to accommodate such requests but cannot guarantee exclusion from crowd shots, background footage, live event documentation, or media captured by third parties.
Festival activities may take place at Tango Renaissance and/or other designated venues in Montreal.
Participants must follow all venue rules, safety instructions, signage, staff directions, and applicable laws.
Outside food and drinks may be restricted depending on the venue or event. Smoking, vaping, illegal substances, and unsafe behavior are not permitted inside Festival venues.
Participants are responsible for their personal belongings. The Organizer and venues are not responsible for lost, stolen, or damaged items.
Any damage caused by a Participant to the venue, equipment, furnishings, or property may be charged to that Participant.
Participants with accessibility needs or special requests are encouraged to contact the Organizer in advance so that reasonable efforts can be made to support participation.
The Organizer will make reasonable efforts to accommodate requests where possible, but accommodation may depend on venue limitations, timing, safety considerations, and available resources.
Participants are responsible for their own travel, accommodation, meals, insurance, transportation, parking, and personal expenses.
The Organizer is not responsible for costs incurred because of travel delays, accommodation issues, personal scheduling conflicts, illness, weather, transportation disruptions, event changes, postponement, or cancellation, except where required by applicable law.
